Amateur radio contesting for the mind!

Introducing Ham Tournament: A New Challenge for Amateur Radio Enthusiasts

We all enjoy the thrill of a DX competition, Field Day, or a QSO party. What if we also had a contest that tested our knowledge?

Welcome to Ham Tournament! Unlike traditional on-air contests that focus on signal strength and contact counts, Ham Tournament tests your knowledge and understanding of amateur radio principles, practices, and history.

Wait, what, a test? I have my ticket, why bother? Simply, because people who take their trade, profession, or even hobby seriously, are constantly learning and striving to be the best that they can be. This is a place for those people, those who want to go that extra distance when it comes to their amateur radio knowledge.

Choose Your Category: Fun or Barefoot or Gallon

Whether you’re just starting out or have years of experience under your belt, there’s a place for you in Ham Tournament:

  • Just for Fun Challenges: These quick 10-question quizzes are a great way to get into the mood for a more competitive challenge. They're also a way to test your knowledge on a specific subject matter.
  • Barefoot Challenges: Designed for beginner and intermediate operators, this category focuses on foundational knowledge. It’s the perfect stepping stone for those looking to deepen their understanding of amateur radio. You will have to answer 60 questions in 30 minutes. You may not complete them all, that's fine, most won't. The key is to do the best that you can, and you can always retake the challenge up to three times.
  • Gallon Challenges: Aimed at intermediate and advanced operators, the Gallon category delves into more complex topics. If you’re up for a challenge and want to test the limits of your expertise, this is the category for you. Like the Barefoot Category, you'll have 60 questions to complete in 30 minutes.

Prizes and Recognition

While there are no prizes quite yet, we are working to change that! Future tournaments, we hope, will feature exciting prizes to recognize top performers in each category.
